Jorge R. Gutiérrez is a director, character designer, painter, writer, voice actor, and production designer, and although he has seemingly done it all, he's not stopping yet! Inspired by his love for Mexican pop and folk culture, Jorge has worked on numerous projects for film and TV and is best known for being the creator of "El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera," "The Book of Life," "Son of Jaguar," and most recently "Maya and the Three". In this interview, Jorge talks about the personal and cultural inspirations behind the story of "Maya and the Three," some of the issues that come with making big studio movies, his thoughts on making sequels, and what the meaning of true success is to him.
